Suomen huippumalli haussa (English: Finland's Next Top Model) is a Finnish television reality show based on America's Next Top Model. The show first aired on Sunday, 6 April 2008 from 20.00 to 21.00 on the Finnish channel Nelonen. The show is produced by FremantleMedia. The winner for cycle one, Ani Alitalo, was awarded a €25,000 contract with Paparazzi Model Management, the front cover of Finnish Cosmopolitan and became a spokesperson for Max Factor. The winners for cycle two (Nanna Grundfeldt) and three (Jenna Kuokkanen), also won the same awards, however there was no announced cash prize for the modeling contract, and there were two additional casting trips to Milan for Grundfelt, and a trip to New York for Kuokkanen as part of the prize.

Show Format

Much like ANTM, there are reward challenges with an elimination at the end of each episode. Double eliminations are possible as well. Also, like the original show, the contestants receive sporadic "Anne mail" (Annepostia or posti Annelta) with clues about the upcoming challenges. There are guest judges, both Finnish and international. Elimination follows the format seen on ANTM. This includes a bottom two, and judge Anne Kukkohovi’s reasons for those two contestants being at risk for elimination.

Differences Between ANTM and SHH

Unlike on ANTM, which has 13-14 contestants, the series begins with twelve models only. Also, there are fewer reward challenges during each cycle, or challenges with winners, but no reward. There are also far more photo shoots in every cycle, usually two per episode. In later cycles this has changed to follow a more similar format, like that of ANTM.

During the cycles, the group goes abroad, but the finalists do not participate in a runway show. Unlike on ANTM, where a runway show helps in determining the winner, the final decision is made back in Finland. This decision is based solely on the contestants’ photo portfolio and overall performance during the competition. There was a final runway "challenge" between the two finalists in cycle three, however it was not for a specific fashion event.
